Gone at Minnesota State Boys Basketball Tournament!
There will be no new posting from Monday March 19th - Sunday March 25th!
Reason: Our High School boys team made it to the Minnesota State Boys Basketball Tournament and I am one of the Assistant Coaches. Wish us the best of luck! (Also, these boys are Academic Section Champions too.) Luckily I have an excellent student teacher in Matt Baker who will hold down the fort when I am gone. (If you have an opening at your school you may need to check him out. He is able to teach regular and AP Economics, email me if interested.)

Fed to keep rates low until 2014

Below is the note I provided for my AP Students for their class blog with this article:
Why is the FED committing itself to a lower Federal Funds Rate? Also, I would make a habit of visiting the FED News link on the bottom of your blog once a week from now until test day. Reason being the FED is a topic students can struggle with and these stories could help put things into perspective on its behavior and role in our economy. (FED NEWS LINK FROM CNNMONEY)

Below is the information I posted for my AP Micro students on their blog. (I am thinking about trying to work something in about the shutdown rule and decreasing production with costs curves later in the semester too.)

How does this relate to supply and demand? We will also maybe use this article a few different ways due to its description of many upcoming economic concepts.
